Dear (potential) student of Hotelschool the Hague,
The first year at Hotelschool the Hague is one of your most exciting years of your studies. By living in the Skotel with your fellow students is an added value to your study.
Below you can find a interview with Carine Richard who is a student of semester 2011-II.
Why did you choose the Hotelschool?
I come from Switzerland. I knew there were great hotel schools in my home country but since I have always studied there I decided to go study abroad. I heard about Hotelschool The Hague from a friend who had already been accepted. I immediately went on the school's website and enrolled for a selection day. As soon as I saw the school and Skotel, I knew that was the place where I wanted to go for my studies.
Why did you decide to join La Confrérie?
I went to every parties organized by La Confrérie during the first weeks of the first semester. I loved the ambiance and concept of the association even though it was extremely different from my home country. First you meet an insane number of people from every semester thanks to all the events they organize and you really get to know the Dutch culture and mingle with everyone.
Starting period in The Hague
The first weeks were incredible. We were invited to several parties, first in Columbus, a club on the beach in Scheveningen then in the Club-Bar. A lot of parties have a theme which I think is great! They also organized dinners and a photo contest which was a lot of fun! All the members were very welcoming and open to any questions that you might have about the association, the school or just living in The Hague.
What do you like most about La Confrérie and what is the best moment you've had at our association?
I love the fact that you meet people from other semesters that you would never get to know otherwise. And as an international student, your Dutch is improving way faster. The best moment I had with La Confrérie? There were so many different. But a great memory was the La house dinner when we were invited to have dinner by older members from La Confrérie at their place all dressed up in a special theme. La Confrérie definitely makes your social life very exciting.
